See the World with Chamber Travel

article by Amanda Riley | Marketing Manager

Did you know the Eugene Chamber has a group travel program?

“The Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating our 12th year of providing quality group travel to anyone who loves adventure and seeing our world.”, says Director of International Travel, Pat May. “During those 12 years, we have provided 24 tours, and that’s with no tours during the two years of Covid.”

Each year Chamber Travel announces 3-4 tours all around the globe packed full of activities like sight-seeing, wine tasting, food tours, historical landmarks and more. This travel program has taken Globe Trotters to places like Australia, Egypt, Israel, the United Kingdom, Greece and so many other incredible bucket-list locations.

We are very excited to announce our Travel Program for 2024! We have selected three tours, each completely different from the others and very new to what we’ve done in the past.

Spectacular South Africa & Victoria Falls

  • This South Africa tour begins in vibrant Cape Town where we will stay for three nights. Then we fly to Hoedspruit, SA for two nights as we enjoy several game drives on a private reserve. On to Johannesburg, SA for a Highlights Tour seeing this city with so much history and spending one night. Day 9, we are off to Botswana and Chobe National Park for another two nights. Finally, we will travel to spectacular Victoria Falls for the final 3 nights.

Memorials of World War II: 80th Anniversary (20 person limit. Act fast!!)

  • This tour is about the D-Day landing in depth.  We will be “walking in the shoes” of our troops starting 2 days in London retracing Churchill’s steps, House of Parliament, and learning of London’s Blitz. Next to Portsmouth where Generals Eisenhower and Montgomery made their Landing Headquarters. Staying in Caen for 3 nights, in the heart of the beaches, we will visit all of the landings, museums, Memorials and Normandy American Cemetery. Our final two nights will be in Paris where their liberation was celebrated with our troops.  Our farewell dinner on our final night will be on a dinner cruise on the Seine.

New York City, New York

  • This five full-day tour will make you really feel like the tourist that we are.  We tried to include as many “touristy” places we can think of and still have time to shop, explore, grab that hot dog from the street vendor, and enjoy a carriage ride in Central Park. This is our first non-international tour and we are excited to offer it for those who do not want to fly out of the country.  From a Broadway show, 9/11 Memorial and Museum, The Met, Top Of The Rock, Coney Island, Grand Central Station, many NYC neighborhoods, and much more, we think you will feel like you’ve been to NYC
