Play a part in making this the best World Athletics Championships ever. Here are some ideas and resources that will help you and your employees provide a great Oregon experience.
Pocket guides – The WCH Oregon22 pocket guide includes an area map, information on transportation, things to do and much more. Contact our Visitor Center at 541.484.5307 to request a supply.
Dine After 9 – Visitors will leave Hayward Field feeling energized and looking for places to eat and drink. The Eugene Riverfront Festival will be an option, but many will look for a local restaurant experience. Our Dine After 9 page highlights restaurants and bars that are open after 9 p.m. Are you listed?
Be available – Coordinate staffing and hours with the event schedule at Hayward Field. Visitors will have time before and after sessions to explore and we want them to come see you. The Eugene Riverfront Festival, along with activation sites in the Whiteaker, Market District, Oakway Center, downtown Eugene and downtown Springfield will attract residents and visitors.
Champion World Host – ChampionWorldHosts.com provides a hub of information that front line staff can easily access and use to connect visitors to local experiences. A 7-part email training series makes it easy to learn new things about the region.
Events and things to do – Visitors will have free time to explore and enjoy everything the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region has to offer. To direct them to your events, please add events to our event calendar. Submitting an event is quick and easy, so start by hitting the Submit an Event tab on our website.
Be a translator – Athletes from over 200 nations and spectators from over 34 countries may experience language barriers and to assist there will be translators available through #GlobalSealExperience.
Rent a room – Hotels and short term rentals are full, but we can make more rooms available by residents listing rooms through a short term rental platform. Airbnb, vrbo and others make listing a room easy. We also can connect you with an Airbnb ambassador to walk you through the sign-up process.
Drivers wanted – The number of Uber or Lyft drivers dropped by more than 1,500 drivers from pre-pandemic highs. Visitors will need options and driving for an organization like Uber or Lyft will allow you to earn extra cash, meet interesting people and make our ground transportation work better.
Welcome materials – Community and state branded materials are available to welcome and inform visitors. Posters and table tents display a QR code to quickly link employees and visitors to the Eugene, Cascades & Coast WCH Oregon22 online resource guide.
